How To Maximize Your PC Optimum Points?

In case you’re still new or not completely familiar with PC Optimum rewards program. I have covered it in detail and you can find the article by clicking here

Here’s how PC Optimum works – You’ll earn PC points by regular shopping at close to 200+ stores. You can then redeem 10,000 PC points for $10 in groceries or merchandise at the stores I have mentioned in the previous section.

Bonus PC Points are earned through personalized, weekly offers and in-store promos.

PC Insiders Travel

All you need to do is – visit pctravel.ca and book your travel purchases to earn 3X the PC Optimum points on the booking amount.

Simple Right? Yes, it is. There are no strings attached. Also, the points earning rates are petty standard across the site.

Also, with the PC Insiders Travel you’ll get the benefit of “Best Price Match Guarantee”. So rest assured you’ll end up paying the best price in the market – be it for air tickets or for accommodation.

You can use the PC Insiders Travel website to book – flights, hotel rooms, car rentals, vacation packages and much more.

Do look out for the travel deals on the website too!

Benefits Of The PC Insiders Travel program

If you are a PC Financial Mastercard holder and a PC Insider member, there are 4 benefits for you

1. You’ll earn up to 3x PC Optimum points for every purchase you make

2. You get free access to exclusive bonus points promotions, which runs all round the year.

3. You can apply the PC Insider $99 Travel credit towards your PC Travel booking (that’s a win-win situation)

4. If you are a PC Financial Mastercard holder, you’ll earn PC Optimum Points on every travel purchase – PC Mastercard and PC World Mastercard credit cards will earn you 2X points on every PC Travel purchase. If you have the PC World Elite Mastercard you will earn 3X points on every PC Insiders Travel purchase.

Do note that, If you are a PC Optimum member only, you cannot book with the PC Insiders Travel.

For the PC Insiders loyalty points benefit, all you need to do is scan your PC Optimum loyalty card and your extra points for eligible purchases will be awarded automatically in the app.

For free shipping, waived pick-up fee or to use the travel credit available with annual subscriptions, you must use your PC id credentials that you use to sign in to your loyalty account.

PC Mastercard

However, if you have the PC Mastercard, then you’ll earn more points on all your purchases.

For Example, the PC Financial World Elite Mastercard gives you 30 points for every $1 spent at participating stores where PC products are sold. You also earn 45 points per $1 spent at Shoppers Drug Mart.

That means your credit card gives you a 3% and 4.5% return in PC Optimum points respectively at those stores. That’s a crazy high earn rate for a credit card with no annual fee and it’s arguably better than some of the best travel credit cards in Canada.

World Elite Mastercard has a higher income requirement, but PC Credit Cards also have an entry-level card in the PC Financial Mastercard which earns you 25 PC Optimum Points per $1 dollar spent at Shoppers Drug Mart and 10 PC Optimum Points per $1 spent on all other purchases which are obviously a great way to earn you more points.

Credit cards are a great way to earn points, but the in-store promos are what really earn you some crazy amount of points.

For example, Joe Fresh recently had a promo where you would get 10,000 PC Optimum Points when you spend $50. That promo stacks with PC Insiders so that would mean you would have earned 20% back in PC Optimum points.

These types of promotions also happen at Shoppers Drug Mart on a regular basis so make sure you’re signed up for their personalized newsletter, which you’ll get weekly.
